African Golf Escapes was founded on a conviction that South Africa has some of the finest golf courses in the world — and that too few golfers, both locally and internationally, have experienced them at their best.

From the clifftop drama of Pinnacle Point to the Big Five encounters at Leopard Creek; from the Jack Nicklaus Signature design at Pearl Valley to Gary Player's masterpiece at Fancourt — South Africa's golf landscape is extraordinary. We exist to help you discover it, properly.

While we are a new company, we are far from new to the industry. Our two founders bring a combined 25+ years of experience in golf, tourism and technology — giving African Golf Escapes a depth of knowledge that most new operators simply cannot match.

Peter Botha

Co-founder, Operations & Technology

Peter brings nearly 16 years of passion for the game of golf alongside a career spanning decades in Information Technology. As the operational backbone of African Golf Escapes, he is responsible for the systems, processes and back-of-house operations that ensure every tour runs without a hitch. Peter's deep personal love for golf — built over hundreds of rounds on South Africa's finest courses — gives him an authentic perspective on what a great golf tour feels and looks like from a player's point of view.

Andre Gildenhuys

Co-founder, Tours & Guest Experience

Andre is a nationally registered and accredited tour guide with over 15 years of experience guiding guests through South Africa's most spectacular destinations. Well-loved and widely respected among his peers — both in Cape Town and nationally — he brings a warmth and professionalism to every tour that guests remember long after they have returned home. Andre's deep knowledge of South African history, culture, flora, fauna and its golf courses makes every journey with African Golf Escapes more than just a round of golf.

Why licensed operators matter

Every AGE booking is protected by our SA Tourism registration and IAGTO membership — your deposit sits with an accredited operator, not an unregistered reseller.

The practical implications of working with a licensed, registered operator:

Unlicensed operators have no legal obligation to honour bookings or refund deposits
Without public liability insurance, you have no cover if something goes wrong during the tour
Unregistered guides cannot legally operate in South African national parks or heritage sites
SA Tourism registration requires operators to meet minimum quality and conduct standards
IAGTO membership commits us to an international code of conduct and ethical tour operation
