1. Golf Inclusions and Exclusions

Unless otherwise specified in your confirmed quotation, all golf packages include green fees at the specified courses only. Golf carts, transfers, caddies, equipment rental, meals and beverages, and personal expenses are excluded unless explicitly listed in your quotation. Please refer to your confirmed quotation for the full breakdown of what is included in your specific package.

2. Golf Equipment Rental

Equipment rental is available at most clubs at approximately R550 per set per round, payable directly to the club. Availability is limited and cannot be guaranteed. Clients requiring rental equipment should notify us at least 14 days prior to travel.

3. Handicap Requirements

Some golf courses require visiting golfers to hold a valid, officially registered handicap issued by a recognised golf club or national golf federation. Where this requirement applies, it will be noted in your itinerary. Proof of handicap may be requested at the first tee. Unofficial, social, or unregistered handicaps cannot be accepted at such venues.

It is the client's responsibility to ensure all members of the group hold a valid handicap where required. African Golf Escapes accepts no liability for any player refused access to a course due to an invalid or missing handicap certificate.

4. Golf Cart Policy

Golf carts are included subject to each club's rules and conditions. Some courses restrict or prohibit cart usage during or following wet conditions. Clients must comply with all cart rules at each venue. Damage caused by client negligence is the client's financial responsibility.

5. Dress Code and Conduct

A smart golf dress code is required at all venues. This includes a collared golf shirt, smart golf trousers or tailored shorts, and soft-spike golf shoes. Metal spikes, denim, cargo shorts, and tracksuits are not permitted at any venue. Clients who do not meet dress code requirements may be refused entry without refund. African Golf Escapes reserves the right to remove any client from a tour without refund in cases of serious misconduct.

6. Tee Times and Arrival

All tee times are booked in advance and confirmed in your itinerary. Clients must arrive at the course at least 30 minutes before their scheduled tee time. Clients who miss their tee time without prior notice may forfeit their round without refund. We accept no responsibility for delays caused by traffic, weather, or other circumstances outside our control.

7. Pace of Play

Clients must maintain a reasonable pace of play. A standard round of 18 holes should be completed within 4 to 4.5 hours. Clients are required to be on the first tee at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start.

8. Weather Policy

Golf tours operate in all reasonable weather conditions. Where a round is suspended after 9 holes have been completed, no refund applies. If a full round cannot be started due to course closure, we will endeavour to arrange an alternative tee time or date where possible. We are not liable for weather-related disruptions outside our control.

9. Course Substitution

We reserve the right to substitute a golf course where the nominated course becomes unavailable due to closure, maintenance, scheduling conflicts, or circumstances beyond our control. Substitute courses will be of equivalent or higher quality and clients will be notified as soon as possible. Where a client does not accept the substituted course, African Golf Escapes will endeavour to offer a partial refund for that day's golf only. Where a client requests a change of course, at least 21 days notice is required and changes are subject to availability.

10. Safety and Inherent Risks

Golf is an outdoor sport that carries inherent risks. These include but are not limited to being struck by golf balls, golf clubs, or other equipment, uneven terrain, exposure to weather conditions, and golf cart-related incidents. African Golf Escapes, its staff, and its representatives accept no liability for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during the course of play, whether caused by fellow players, third parties, course conditions, or any other circumstances. All clients and members of their group participate entirely at their own risk. We strongly recommend that all clients ensure their travel insurance includes personal accident cover and medical expenses.
