Royal Cape Golf Club holds the distinction of being the oldest golf club in South Africa and on the African continent, established in 1885. A recipient of the Royal prefix from the British Crown, the club occupies a prestigious position in Cape Town's southern suburbs and has hosted virtually every major South African golf championship since the late 19th century.
